Location very convenient and the use of the pool in the sister hotel across the street
i have stayed at the Bow View Lodge before and plan to do so every time i am in Banff. I ski during the winter months and have always been pleased with the courteous service, good location, easy parking, quiet atmosphere and peaceful nights sleep I have gotten. this is a very good place to stay.
The room was much smaller than what I expected but it was comfortable and clean. The hotel was nice and quiet all throughout the day and night. Staff were accommodating and friendly.
Though we were allowed unllimited use of the Banff Park Lodge pool and amenities, crossing over in the cold weather was a downer. Especially after a swim. I hope they make a pedway... And please fix the tub drain. It clogged.
The staff were wonderful and very accommodating - really enjoyed our stay.
Very good value, rooms were nice and large. Close to evrything in town and nice view of the river.
The mini fridge was too small. Very shallow and no height. Couldn't fit very much in it.
We like to stay at Bow View Lodge because it is a small, quiet, affordable retreat with a wonderful view of river. Have stayed here a number of times during off-season when we like to visit Banff & to hike.
No dislikes but would comment that some of the plumbing may need some update-sink did not drain very well.
The beautiful mountain setting, and view of the Bow River. Wildlife can often be seen from the hotel grounds. Lots of wonderful restaurants and shopping within walking distance from the hotel. Clean rooms and polite hospitality were also part of our experience.
We stayed on the 1st floor, which offered a nice view, but no balcony like the other floors. I have stayed in this hotel before and didn't notice that, or I would of requested a balcony.
The hotel is exemely close to downtown, step outside the door, walk to the lits a half block away and you're downtown.
Didn't like that you had to pay for internet access. Also didn't like that all the rooms are connected and accessible by the balcony. No sense of security if you want to leave the balcony door open overnight.
Location is great; quiet part of town near river, but five mins (literally) from town centre facilities.
Wifi was available, but for a hefty $10 in one's room, or via a per-minute chargeable foyer desktop. I'm not sure that the website (the hotel's or Booked.net) made the costs clear.
Friendly helpful staff. Clean and comfortable room. Very good facilities - like WiFi, excellent range of tv channels, safety deposit box and washing machines in sister hotel. Excellent downtown location and lovely river view.
The double bed in our room only had a bedside light on one side - so no use for reading in bed for one person. Found this twice in Canada, but never before anywhere else in the world - is it a Canadian thing? Next time visting Canada will check if main/double bed has a bedside light on both sides, before booking.
Perfect location - stunning views of Bow River from our window and yet only 2 mins from downtown Banff. Friendly staff and clean, comfortable rooms.
A bit dated from the outside but this was far outweighed by the location and was not reflected in the interior except for windows being a bit dated.
Location was absolutely superb; book a river view room and you get a wonder view from the balcony with sliding doors that open to let in the fresh air. The room was extremely clean and towels and bedding also clean and fresh.
The greeting on arrival from the front desk was somewhat sombre and unfriendly; albeit after that day the other desk staff were friendly and helpful
The room was clean. We were allowed to have a slightly late check-out without having to be very assertive. The staff was very friendly. Also, the facilities (swimming pool, steam room, Jacuzzi) were very clean and had fresh towel service. My girlfriend and I really enjoyed our stay at the Bow View Lodge. Definitely worth the money.
We have stayed here several times before and have always enjoyed our stay. We have requested and received rooms overlooking the Bow River which is a wonderful sight to wake up to. The motel is quiet and the staff is very helpful. The location is great, just a short walk to the downtown shopping and dining areas. We will continue to stay at this motel when we visit Banff.
The location. The website advertises a pool but for the pool you have to cross into the next building, walk through a stinky underground parking lot, up the elevator to get to the pool. It was ridiculous, bad advertising. The room was very small with thin walls. When I explained to the front desk about my insatisfaction about the pool, she just shrugged her shoulders. I have never seen someone in customer service who did not give a damn like she did. I would not recommend this place at all. It says there were vending machines on the 2 floor and no such vending machines exist.
